New project: TCHC to deliver Community Grants project in the East of England

06/06/2011

TCHC recently won the contract to deliver the Community Grants project in the East of England. This project makes funds available in the form of small grants to appropriate third sector organisations in order to mobilise disadvantaged or excluded unemployed and economically inactive people. These grants will facilitate the progress of these individuals towards employment.

The Grants would enable small third sector organisations that would not otherwise be able to access ESF funding, to access small grants through simplified applicant arrangements. They will support a range of activities aimed at assisting the disadvantaged or excluded to move closer to the labour market by improving their access to mainstream ESF and domestic employment and skills provision.

In the East of England TCHC will be responsible for:

  • Publicising the availability of grants and making calls for applications in line with agreed regional priorities
  • Selecting successful third sector applicants, agreeing the level of approved grant and planned outcomes
  • Providing support, where necessary, to grant recipients to help them manage ESF effectively
  • Monitoring and delivery of grant receipts.

Delivery of the project will start shortly.
